Microsoft Word (.docx)¶

Supported formats: .docx (Microsoft Word Open XML).

Set both sides to .docx files. Diffract renders both documents as formatted text with headings, body paragraphs, and lists intact.

Changed paragraphs are highlighted with the standard amber changed-row colour.
Paragraph-level alignment: Diffract matches paragraphs by position and content. A paragraph present in one document but not the other is shown as added or removed.
Formatting changes (font weight, size, style) that do not affect text content are noted but shown separately from content changes.

Text content and paragraph structure. Images, tables, and charts inside the document are shown but not compared at this time.
